WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Expanding Access to Production Fundamentals
With support from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and in partnership with Production Assistance Unlimited, Filmscape Chicago is proud to announce our first Workforce Training program for production assistants. This free program consists of 80 hours of hands-on training across two and a half weeks. Our aim is to provide a solid foundation for a career in film and television, particularly for members of groups historically underrepresented in the industry. The program is designed to provide students with all the tools needed for a successful first day on the job.
As there are limited spaces available, admission will be application-based. The program is intended for Illinois residents actively seeking employment in the film and television industry. Applicants must be IL residents with high school diploma or equivalent. Preference will be given to those who are available for immediate work in the Chicago production market upon completion of the course. The complete syllabus is available for download below (content subject to change.)
Two cohorts will be offered - winter and spring. Stay tuned for spring dates!
Application is below - any questions you can email info@filmscapechicago.com
The Program - Winter Cohort

Classes will be from 9-3, Monday through Friday, from February 5 through February 21, at CineCity Studios (1414 S Western Ave). Lunch will be provided for students. A gear stipend will be available to students who complete the program to purchase equipment for production work.
